⚠️ Be Alert: Fraudulent QR Codes May 1, 2026

We are aware that people are putting invalid QR code stickers on our machines in an attempt to redirect payment. Unfortunately, this is something that can happen to any unattended digital or metered payment system.

TPA maintenance staff, as well as Toronto police enforcement officers are vigilant in reporting to us when they see fraudulent stickers. We then report the incidents to City of Toronto Cyber Security and the websites are forced to shut down.

Customers should be aware that older model machines do not have QR code capability, so any sticker on a machine is fraudulent. The new machines have QR codes embedded right into the screen, so any sticker placed on the machine is also fraudulent.
