Using Pay-and-Display Machines & Single Space Meters

Pay-and-Display machines enforce multiple parking spaces on a block. These spaces are indicated by signs at either end. You can pay by coin or with a credit card at any machine.

Single space meters each control one parking space and accept payment by coin in denominations of .05¢ / .10¢ / .25¢ / $1.00 / $2.00.

To pay at a machine or meter:

  1. Insert coins or a credit card into the machine/meter (single space meters only accept coins).
  2. Choose your parking duration and confirm payment to receive your proof of parking ticket. The ticket’s detachable portion serves as your receipt or reimbursement proof of purchase.
  3. Place the ticket face-up on the car dashboard and ensure the expiry time is clearly visible.

Parking Rates

Parking rates can be found on pay-and-display machines, single meter machines and in the Green P Parking App.  The majority of parking rates are in $1.50, $2.75, $4.00, $5.25, or $6.50 increments.

Maximum Times

Most on-street parking spaces allow a maximum of 3 hours of parking.

There are also parking durations in 30-minute and 1-hour increments where the maximum parking time can range from 15 minutes to 24 hours.

Location-specific parking hours of operation and rates can be found in the Green P Parking App and on the rate card at each pay station.

Vehicles parked at paid parking spaces which do not adhere to the regulatory restrictions will be subject to enforcement by the Toronto Police Services Parking Enforcement Unit. Enforcement is 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
