Job Summary

In this role you will be required to work as a maintainer at Toronto Parking Authority facilities. You must be willing to work various and/or rotating shifts across a 24/7 operation. Employees in this classification may be required to perform attendant duties, in addition to general maintenance duties as part of their scheduled shift.

Responsibilities

• Janitorial duties on lots and/or within garage i.e. sweeping, mopping, washing, scrubbing, garbage disposal/removal.
• Clean garage floors, stairwells, washrooms, booths and other work areas.
• Operate all Authority vehicles/trucks and specialist cleaning vehicles i.e. sweepers and scrubbers.
• Re-lamping garage.
• Paint
• Perform other assigned duties as directed by their Supervisor or designee.
• Promotes and exemplifies Toronto Parking Authority’s Core Values.
• This position is within the scope of Payment Card Industry Compliance (processes credit card payments).
• Other Duties as required

Qualifications

• Must have and continue to be in possession of a valid G driver’s licence, with a minimum of 3 years driving experience and a good driving record and be insurable at preferred rates. A driver’s abstract (current) must be submitted.
• Sound knowledge of operating different types of cleaning equipment such as sweepers and scrubbers.
• Ability to do basic maintenance on the above equipment, such as cleaning of air filter, radiator, check oil level, check and clean dust filters.
• Must have a good knowledge of custodial maintenance in facilities and have ability to conduct snow plow operations as appropriate.
• Able to lift, push and pull heavy loads and work outdoors in varying climate conditions.
